Weird Things That Have Happened to Me Over Break

So since I've been home for break, I've had a couple of funny things happen to me. I couldn't think of anything to write about recently, so enjoy :)

1) So apparently we have the Spanish MTV Channel
If you know me, you also probably know that I'm relatively technologically challenged. For example, the beginning of this year my apartment lacked a TV for a few weeks because this girl lost the power cord. Let me tell you, the guy at Best Buy got a kick out of that one. Anyways, today I pressed the wrong button on the TV controller, and for some reason the "Guide" button would not work. The only buttons that would work were the Channel up and down ones, so I could change the channel but I was not completely sure of what the channel actually was. I find the show Friendzone on MTV and decide on watching that. Once there was a commercial break, I decided to Pinterest a little bit to pass the time. I was not totally paying attention, but I could hear background noise and realized I had no idea of what they were saying. I seriously for about a minute thought I had some kind of brain problem, I was so confused. Then I realized...I'm probably on the Spanish channel.

2) Cookie in a mug...Pinterest style
I attempted the cookie in a mug off Pinterest that you can make in the mug...it is disgusting. I've finally met a cookie I didn't like.

3)
Came home to this guy, literally five feet tall. I'm all about Christmas decorations, but this is just a little odd.

4)
Every time I open our refrigerator...this is what happens. Which considering it's break, is about every ten minutes. Side note, for those of you who won't see me until January do not be shocked if I'm about 300 pounds. My personal favorite phrase of this guy's is "You again? I'm going to have to get a lock for that door!"

That's all I've got for now, but I hope break is going fabulously for everyone! :)

Why I Hate Finals Week

1) My immune system knows when it's exam week
Oh it's exam week? Here's a healthy dose of the whooping cough. Sleep? Nahh...you don't need it. That's really awesome you wanted to go to the library. Too bad you have a fever and can't get out of bed.

2) Everybody looks awful.
It seriously becomes almost socially unacceptable to look like you've had more than one hour of sleep the night before. Make up, a decent hair-do, and real pants? Ain't nobody got time for that. Did I wear a grey on grey sweatpant/sweatshirt combination out in public this morning? Sure did. I hate feeling like a slob, but finals week sucks you in.

3) Studying
Studying doesn't come very naturally to me, the only real effective way it happens for me is if I walk around talking to myself about what it is I'm learning. When you live in a 500 sq. foot apartment that doesn't have actual doors, that makes that a little awkward.

4) There's always really good TV shows on
How the heck am I supposed to be productive when shows like Elf and Despicable Me are on...

I hope everyone's finals are going well so far! Just keep swimming!

"I like to be a free spirit. Some don't like that, but that's the way I am." - Princess Diana

I've always considered myself to be a bit of a free spirit. I talk entirely too much at times (I was actually talking about what I should write about for my next blog last night at dinner. The comment was made "Well it sure seems like you have a heck of a lot to say!" So very true.) My brain goes a mile a minute in all different directions. I care too much about the opinions of those who aren't very nice and take for granted the opinions of those who are.  I literally have the attention span of an ant (please see picture below). I'm a total T-shirt and jeans kinda girl that has random phases of loving to dress up (on that note, next time I think wearing six inch heels for seven hours is a good idea, please someone talk me out of it. I'm reasonably certain this is what being hit by a bus feels like). I can be kind of an airhead. I change my hair color all the time, mainly just because I cannot remember what color I actually mean to buy. I never really know how to describe myself because it changes by the day.

Oh you know, just me...not paying attention. Shocker.

There's been a lot of times where I wish I wasn't such an oddball. Sure, sometimes I wish I could be taken just a little bit more seriously. School would be a heck of a lot easier if I could focus for more than seven seconds. Sometimes, I wish I wasn't so nice to everyone.

Now that I'm a senior in college though, I'm obviously super wise. I've realized the only way to be truly happy is to be yourself, all the time, no matter what. If you're not happy, you're probably acting out of character. Change it. What do you really want to do? What is your gut telling you to do? I've realized that a lot of things I've done that have made me unhappy have been against my better judgement and what I really felt. So listen to your heeeaaaarrrrttttttt

You're welcome for this. Have fun with it being stuck in your head for the rest of the evening.

I'm not sure where all this here deep stuff came from (this is meant to be read in my southern accent that tends to make an appearance frequently. Most of you know exactly what I'm talking about.), but I just took some cold medicine so that might be it!

ByeEEEEEE!

Megan's Favorite THIIIIIINNNNGSSSSS!

Recently, a lot of my friends have been getting into blogging. I've always really enjoyed writing, so I thought "hey maybe I'll give it a try!" I guess in since this is my first post, I should probably write something about myself. So here's a list of my most favorite things (in no particular order)!

10) Sparkly headbands and bows. I probably wear one of these items in my hair 6 out of 7 days of the week! I love basically all things that involve glitter and sparkles. Also, good tip, sequin headbands stay in your hair really well if you're a person who can't normally wear headbands.

9) Crew neck sweatshirts. I LOVE crew necks. I may or may not be wearing one right now. If I could wear one everyday, I probably would. When I see one in a store, I'm instantly drawn to it. Paired with some yoga pants, that right there is my perfect outfit.

8) My friends. I know everyone says this, but I literally have the best friends in the world. I think I have one of the most fun lives ever, and I owe this all to my friends. They always make me laugh, give me the best advice (even though I never listen at first), and we always have a good ol' time.

7) Lemonade with blueberry vodka. If it's done right, seriously tastes like Smarties.

6) "Dancing like nobody's watching" My dance moves embody that phase. I like A LOT of arm motions, framing of the face, and Bernie-ing. Basically I look like I'm having a seizure on the dance floor, but I love it. I've also been voted best dancer in my sorority two years in a row now. Haters gonna hate.

5) Michigan State! I love this school. I've learned so much over the past few years about everything from Animal Science to life in general and had the time of my life while doing so. I feel like I really fit in here. I know there's a lot of changes to the program that I'm in that disappoint me, but I feel hopeful that there are better days ahead for the program.

4) Laughing. I am always laughing. If the whole laughing makes you live longer thing is true, I am going to be on this Earth for a long time. I find the oddest things hilarious. Example: My best friend's got her senior pictures last night, and they are fantastic (sarcasm might also be one of my favorite things). Being the great friend that I am, naturally I post one on Facebook paired with an inspirational quote. Most people might just chuckle about this...I've literally been laughing for about 1/2 hour now.

3) Cooking. If you know me personally, you're probably reading this thinking "that is the scariest thing I've ever heard in my life", but I can guarantee I'm a better cook than you think! It might take a little bit more effort for me to focus enough to not burn the apartment down, but I think my food is not too shabby!

2) Doing nice/cute things for people. I love to make other people happy. It's like a hobby for me. One of my least favorite things is seeing other people sad, I think it bothers me more than when I'm actually sad. So if ever you need some cheering up, let me know! :)

1) HORSES! Duh, that's the name of this blog! I just love 'em. They've changed my life in so many ways I cannot even begin to explain. In "real" life, I'm uncoordinated, clumsy, and pretty awkward; but when I'm on a horse I actually feel somewhat graceful. My own horse Ruby has taught me confidence, how to deal with success and failure, and how stick the "stop and spin" move she likes to pull. There's been so many nights where I've gone out to the barn either happy and excited to just play around with the ponies, and there's the been the nights where maybe I wasn't so happy and she helped me pick up the pieces. I wouldn't trade my horsey life for anything in the world!

Well, that's all for now!
